Jazz Bass 2 (sample class)

Jazz Bass 2 dives deep into the skills and techniques you will need as a professional jazz bassist. Throughout the course, emphasis will be maintained on the practical application of the material covered. Each lesson will feature video demonstrations, listening examples, play-along exercises, suggested listening, and practice techniques.

You will learn how to memorize songs and not forget them. Exercises for strengthening your time will be demonstrated. Bossa Nova, Ballad playing, and performing a walking line at fast tempos will be explored in depth. We will also develop a methodology for learning to solo effectively.

The goal of the course is to prepare you for professional level gigs. Jazz Bass 2 will answer the question, "How do I take my playing to the next level?"

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Learn new tunes by memory
  • Understand Bossa Nova style and the music of Jobim
  • Play Rhythm Changes correctly
